Latest Club Updates

Members; Update Oakridge Access

We need Members to Write Letter Brief Letter of Support.

In regard to getting the county roads in Oakridge open to SxS/OHVs.

The Oakridge City Council is moving forward with their effort to request that Lane County commissioners pass a resolution to change the road designations for a few of the county roads to Allow OHVs on the roads. If successful, this will make it possible for OHVs to ride from town to the forest.

Please write a letter of support. These letters will be passed on to the County Commissioners. The letter of support should be fairly brief, 1 or 2 paragraphs, no more than 1 page. I am going to list a few items that you may want to include in your letter. Please make this letter your own. Add your own thoughts and ideas. Please do not simply copy and paste and answer the questions. Will you please respond to this post when you send your letter. This will encourage others to participate.

Include:

Your name, contact information, the number of people in your family, or the size of the group that you normally ride with.

Maybe a little about why you enjoy riding and how often you ride.

The type/s of OHV that you own, SxS, ATV, MC.

How often you might visit Oakridge.

Would you stay in a hotel or RV Park.

Would you be using the local businesses? Restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores, and others.

Would you support an OHV event, such as a Poker Run?

Oakridge put on 3 annual 3-day SxS Festivals a few years ago.

Would you support the event if it returned?

Would like to see Oakridge develop an OHV staging/camping area with restrooms?

Would you be willing to pay a fee to camp in an OHV staging/camping area?

If so, what would be a reasonable fee per night?

If Oakridge can get the county to change the road designation to allow OHVs, you and the people of Oakridge will benefit.

These letters are going to show the public interest and the potential economic impact for the town of Oakridge. Your letters will make a difference.

Letters can be attached as a word document or PDF to an email and sent to:
